Partner with the Lamar Leadership Series

The Lamar Leadership Series is Â鶹ӳ»­Ó°Òô's credit-bearing leadership development program, built around stackable microcredentials that lead to a Lamar Coaching Certificate (18 semester credit hours) and a Peak Performance Certificate (24 semester credit hours). The curriculum draws on proven leadership-development frameworks and is designed to build practical, real-world leadership skills in students who will move directly into the Southeast Texas workforce — making the program a natural place for local businesses to invest in their future talent pipeline.

The Culminating Experience

Each cohort's training builds toward a culminating experience: a capstone event developed in partnership with Lamar's Athletics Department. Local organizations send employees who have taken part in the leadership training to attend, and the evening features a keynote address from a well-known athletic figure. The event is open to the broader community on a ticketed basis, and any donations generated are split evenly between Athletics and Leadership Studies, administered through University Advancement. It is both a showcase of what participants have learned and a high-visibility community event that puts partner organizations in front of the region's business and university community.

A New Advisory Group

To keep the program grounded in what regional employers actually need, we are forming an advisory group of business leaders to help guide its direction. Advisory members will offer input on curriculum relevance, help identify mentorship and hiring-pipeline opportunities for graduates, and serve as visible champions of the program across Southeast Texas. This is a founding opportunity: the partners who join now will have an outsized voice in shaping how the program grows in the years ahead.
