The Master of Engineering Science in the Civil Engineering concentration is a thesis option program that prepares students to independently develop solution in develop solution in solution in their selected engineering disciplines.
The student should select a department academic advisor and a graduate committee must be formed before the student has completed 15 semester hours of graduate work. No credit toward a graduate degree will be granted unless approved by the student’s graduate committee.

Admission standards are designed to ensure that all enrolled students are qualified professionals serving in a leadership role in their engineering discipline. The primary requirements are as follows:
- B.S. in Engineering (Transcripts required)

- A grade-point average (GPA) (or its equivalent) is greater than or equal to 3.0, from a four-year bachelor's degree or its equivalent.

- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is optional and not required for the Master of Engineering programs

- Students with a GPA of less 3.0 and greater than or equal to 2.70, can be accepted to the program with the following GRE scores
- Verbal + Quantitative>=285 and Quantitative>=155

- If English is your second language, check the latest University policy regarding the TOEFL/IELTS requirements

*We recommend taking the GRE so we have more information to base acceptance on, especially for those students who do not have a high GPA or have not graduated from an ABET-accredited program.*
