Housed in a state-of-the-art with modern laboratory spaces on the Âé¶¹Ó³»Ó°Òô campus, a world class faculty, and access to a thriving economic hub in Houston. In the Âé¶¹Ó³»Ó°Òô Biology Department, you will interact with and learn alongside faculty trained at some of the best Universities in the US and around the world. You will explore biological problems in fields like Developmental Biology, Genetics, Plant Biology, Cell Biology, Marine Biology, Ornithology, Parasitology, Immunology, Physiology, Vertebrate and Invertebrate Zoology and much more, all while experiencing the thrill of doing science. Whether you are interested in pursuing a premed curriculum or a more academic route, you will have research opportunities to work on problems ranging from cancer biology, environmental issues, organ development, sustainability, botany, immunology, microbiology, virology and bioinformatics.
Many of our majors plan to attend professional school in one of the health related sciences (medical, dental, veterinary, etc.). Âé¶¹Ó³»Ó°Òô has a high acceptance rate into these programs. One of the reasons for this success is the Pre-Professional Program in the Health Sciences. Several scholarships are available to our pre-professional students.
