Preventing and Addressing Sexual Misconduct

The Texas State University System and 鶹ӳӰ are committed to creating and maintaining educational communities in which each individual is respected, appreciated and valued. 鶹ӳӰ diligently strives to foster an environment that permits and encourages everyone to perform at their highest levels in academia. 鶹ӳӰ’s focus on tolerance, openness, and respect is key in providing every member of our community with basic human dignity free from harassment, exploitation, intimidation or other sexual misconduct.

Sexual Misconduct is a broad term encompassing a range of non-consensual sexual activity or unwelcome behavior of a sexual nature. The term includes but is not limited to sexual assault, sexual exploitation, sexual intimidation, sexual harassment, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. Sexual misconduct can be committed by men or women, strangers or acquaintances, and can occur between or among people of the same or opposite sex.

鶹ӳӰ is firmly committed to maintaining an educational environment free from all forms of sex discrimination. Sexual Misconduct is a form of sex discrimination and will not be tolerated. 鶹ӳӰ promotes prompt reporting of all types of Sexual Misconduct and timely and fair resolution of Sexual Misconduct complaints. 鶹ӳӰ will take prompt and appropriate action to eliminate Sexual Misconduct when such is committed, prevent its recurrence, and remedy its effects.
