Â鶹ӳ»Ó°Òô will celebrate the grand opening of its new Starbucks on Tuesday, Oct. 14, marking another milestone in the ongoing renovations of the Mary and John Gray Library.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. at the library’s first-floor entrance, featuring prizes, sampling, special pricing and more for attendees. Operated by Chartwells Higher Education through Lamar Dining, the new café adds a modern, welcoming space for students to study, meet and relax.
“We now have a state-of-the-art Starbucks location that you would find in large urban areas,” Bryce Sinclair, senior director of dining services said. “We are proud that we now have one of the finest-looking Starbucks in the area.”
The new Starbucks is part of the university’s broader effort to transform the library into a more dynamic and student-centered space. The updated first floor now features expanded seating, local menu options and a nitro cold brew tap, creating a café-style environment designed to encourage collaboration and community.
The addition of Starbucks complements ongoing upgrades across the Mary and John Gray Library, which include enhanced study areas, new technology and improved accessibility.
