Homecoming Week brings campus, community celebrations

Cardinal pride is soaring as Âé¶¹Ó³»­Ó°Òô celebrates Homecoming 2025, bringing together students, alumni and the community for a week of spirit, tradition and activities leading up to Saturday’s big game.HOCO 2025

The Lamar Cardinals (2-0 in conference, 5-1 overall) will face UT Rio Grande Valley at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in Provost Umphrey Stadium.

Events marked with an asterisk (*) are student-only events. Many athletic events, the bonfire/pep rally, classic car show, art exhibits and tailgates are open to alumni and the wider community.

Homecoming Week Schedule:

Monday, Oct. 13

  • All Day: Vote for Royal Court — Choose your favorites to represent LU.*
  • 8:30–10:30 a.m.: Wake Up to Homecoming — Free breakfast on the Quad.*
  • 5–6 p.m.: Pre-Bonfire Kickback — Field games at Cardinal Park. Grab a food voucher for the Bonfire.*
  • 6:30–9 p.m.: Bonfire & Royal Court Showcase — Spindletop Boomtown Museum.

Tuesday, Oct. 14

  • All Day: Vote for Royal Court continues.
  • 7 p.m.: Patio Night: Mum Factory — Rec Center Patio. Create DIY Homecoming mums and corsages.*

Wednesday, Oct. 15

  • All Day: Vote for Royal Court continues.
  • 11 a.m.–3 p.m.: Hire A Cardinal Career Fair — Montagne Center. Open to all majors.
  • 5 p.m.: LU Softball vs. San Jacinto College — Softball Complex, free admission.
  • 7–8 p.m.: Coach’s Show — Rec Center Patio. Head Coach Pete Rossomando previews the Homecoming matchup.
  • 8–10 p.m.: NPHC Hump Night — Setzer Student Center Atrium.*

Thursday, Oct. 16

  • 7:30 a.m.: Resource Market — Gentry Hall at Cardinal Village.
  • 11 a.m.–2 p.m.: Spiceful — Dining Hall.
  • 11 a.m.–1 p.m.: Cardinal Craze — Custom crafts and giveaways at the Setzer Student Center.*
  • 6 p.m.: LU Volleyball vs. University of the Incarnate Word — McDonald Gym. Free with LU ID.

Friday, Oct. 17

  • 11 a.m.–1 p.m.: Show Us Your Red — Pep rally and LU swag at the Setzer Student Center.*
  • 6 p.m.: Homecoming Concert — Neches FCU Arena at the Montagne Center, featuring G Herbo and the announcement of Royal Court winners.*

Saturday, Oct. 18 – Game Day!

  • 10 a.m.–2 p.m.: Big Red’s Ride Classic & Antique Car Show — Spindletop Boomtown Museum.
  • 10 a.m.–3 p.m.: Free Art Events — Dishman Art Museum.
  • 11 a.m.: LU Volleyball vs. Houston Christian University — McDonald Gym.
  • 11 a.m.–2 p.m.: Boomtown Tailgate — Plummer Lawn, Lot E-3.
  • 12:15 p.m.: Cardinal Walk — Meet the team before kickoff.
  • 2–2:40 p.m.: Showcase of Southeast Texas Tailgate Show and Pre-Game Show.
  • 3 p.m.: Kickoff – LU Football vs. UT Rio Grande Valley — Provost Umphrey Stadium.
