Dr. Anita L. Riddle, alumna of Â鶹ӳ»Ó°Òô (LU) and retired ExxonMobil executive, has established a $15,000 endowment aimed at supporting the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at LU.
Originally from Bisbee, Arizona, Dr. Riddle earned her Master of Engineering Management and Doctor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering degrees from Â鶹ӳ»Ó°Òô in 1993 and 1996, respectively. Her doctoral research focused on enhancing processing efficiency and reducing pollution in solvent extraction processes using neural networks. Throughout her career spanning 28 years at ExxonMobil, she held various roles including chemical engineer, lubricants refinery manager, and procurement executive.
Dr. Riddle's military service as a U.S. Army officer and her leadership in organizations such as the SWE and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers underscore her commitment to engineering and community service. Her endowment, named the Dr. Anita L. Riddle Endowment for the Society of Women Engineers, aims to bolster student organization activities within Â鶹ӳ»Ó°Òô's College of Engineering.
The endowment, managed under Â鶹ӳ»Ó°Òô's guidelines, will empower SWE to fund programs that enhance student career readiness and support their academic pursuits. In the event that SWE ceases to operate as a recognized student organization, the funds will be redirected by the College of Engineering to support other student groups.
Dr. Riddle's generosity reflects her enduring dedication to fostering excellence in engineering education and empowering future leaders in the field.
