Transfer Excellence Scholarship

*Effective Spring 2027

To be considered for this scholarship, the following criteria must be met:

• Be a first-time undergraduate transfer student attending Â鶹ӳ»­Ó°Òô.
• Have earned at least 18, but no more than 90, transferable credit hours.
• Cumulative transferable GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Be enrolled full-time at Â鶹ӳ»­Ó°Òô and maintain full-time enrollment and an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Eligible to receive the scholarship for up to four consecutive long semesters (Fall and Spring).

Students registered in accelerated online programs are not eligible for this scholarship. Students who enroll in an accelerated online program after receiving the scholarship will forfeit the award.

Awarding:

• 3.00 - 3.49 GPA qualifies for $1,500 ($750/$750) award per academic year;
• 3.50 - 4.00 GPA qualifies for $2,000 ($1,000/$1,000) award per academic year.

Smith-Hutson Transfer Scholarship

This application is open to eligible transfer students who have obtained an associates degree or completed a minimum of 60 degree plan credit hours. Learn more at Smith-Hutson Scholars Program.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements

• Must have earned at least 30, but no more than 90, transferable semester credit hours.
• Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Â鶹ӳ»­Ó°Òô. Apply today at applytexas.org
• For consideration for PTK scholarship, students must apply directly through their Personalized Scholarship Portal, myScholarships.
  Proof of PTK membership is required and must be uploaded in the Scholarship Portal. Proof of membership can include any ONE of the following:
  • A copy of an active PTK membership card
  • A current PTK certificate
  • An official letter from a PTK advisor verifying membership
  • Scholarships are subject to the availability of funds
• These scholarships are only awarded to students who, at the time of admission, have a cumulative transferable GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• These scholarships are awarded for the fall semester only to new transfer students.
• These scholarships are awarded in order of application until all available awards have been assigned. The number of available scholarships each year vary.
• These scholarships may be used in addition to other grants, scholarships or loans.

Renewal Requirements

• Be admitted and continuously enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree-seeking program at Â鶹ӳ»­Ó°Òô
• Renewable awards are for a maximum of six consecutive semesters
• Complete a minimum of 12 hours for full-time status per semester at LU
• Maintain a cumulative 3.00 GPA or higher
• Register for classes by the registration deadline each semester
