The council voted to table these items in January and revisit them after the requested changes have been made. The previous syllabi did not adhere to Blooms Higher Taxonomy. The student level outcomes and course objectives needed to be rewritten to suggest graduate level rigor. There were also inconsistencies in the student learning outcomes and the course objectives.

The council recommended that the department reach out to the Instructional Design Team in order to receive guidance on SACS requirements and Blooms Higher Taxonomy.

Dr. Abdelnasser Eldek worked with Edward Long from the Instructional Design Team and has sent the revised syllabi. Edward Long verified that these new syllabi reflect the changes that were requested by the council. The council also noted that a majority of the Student Learning Outcomes had two verbs, and requested that this be reduced to one.

The council voted to approve this item, but requested that the Student Learning Outcomes only have one verb.

Fall 2026

The council voted to table this item and return it to the department for correction during the March meeting. The council requested that the Student Learning Outcomes be rewritten to suggest graduate level rigor and that the student learning outcomes and course objectives should not include chapter numbers. The council also noted that the attendance policy of not engaging with the course site for more than 4 continuous days may result in failure is not considered best practice for a fully online course. The council also requested that the last two sentences of General Expectation #9 regarding the use of AI must be removed, as they contradict Â鶹ӳ»Ó°Òô’s current AI policy.

The department sent a revised syllabus as requested that included all of the requested changes.

2026 – 2027

This is a new track in the MS in MIS program. The title of the track is "Experiential Learning." The track will consist of three new elective courses (3 hours each), Internship I, Internship II, and Internship III. Students in this track will engage in internship experiences within external organizations, applying information systems concepts to support and enhance various business functions such as accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, and operations. Through these experiences, students will understand how information systems enable organizational efficiency, integration, and data-driven decision-making across functional areas.

DNP-ADNP : Doctor of Nursing Practice

New Program Proposal

2026 – 2027

The proposed DNP program emphasizes the integration of theoretical knowledge, applied scholarship, and real-world practice. Unlike research-focused PhD programs that emphasize theory generation, the DNP emphasizes the application of existing evidence to improve practice, systems, and outcomes (Brownson et al., 2017; AACN, 2021). This practice-based doctoral model is strongly supported in the literature, which highlights the value of translational research, quality improvement, and systems leadership in advancing healthcare delivery.
