Summer Gusher Series
Summer Gusher Series at Spindletop Boomtown Museum

Date(s): Now through Sunday, Aug. 3, Noon - 3 p.m.
Location: Spindletop Boomtown Museum

Check out the Summer Gusher Series at Spindletop Boomtown Museum, where visitors get to experience a re-enactment of the Lucas Gusher for FREE. LU students, faculty and staff also receive free museum admission during normal operating hours, so be sure to stop by. Admission is not required to see the gusher.

Visit Payroll in the Setzer Center to Setup Direct Deposit

Date(s): Wednesdays in May, 1 - 2 p.m.
Location: Setzer Student Center

Are you an employee receiving a paper check? Visit the Payroll table in the Setzer Center every Wednesday in May from 1 to 2 p.m. to set up direct deposit, then spin the prize wheel and enter our grand prize drawing sponsored by Neches Federal Credit Union. Open to all campus employees, including student workers.

June National Stuttering Association Beaumont/Lamar Chapter Meeting

If you stutter, you are not alone. It’s estimated that over 160 Lamar faculty, students and staff share the common experience of stuttering. Come join our support group, a proven way to build self-confidence, practice speaking, and explore ways to cope with stuttering.

Register Now for GSMP Innovation ColLABoration

Registration is open for the free Innovation ColLABoration STEM Camp, part of the Governor's Summer Merit Program. This camp is open to rising 9th–12th graders, the camp is led by Texas Academy and Reaud Honors College staff, and it explores a variety of STEM careers. Find more information here.

Celebrate National Direct Deposit Month with the Payroll Department

May is National Direct Deposit Month, so the LU Payroll Department invites you to visit us in the Plummer Building (Room 100) to set up your direct deposit information at our employee kiosk and spin our prize wheel for a prize. Nominations for the 2025 David J. Beck Teaching Excellence Award open Thursday, May 1. Full-time faculty (non-tenure track, tenure track, or tenured) who have completed a minimum of three years as of December 2024 are eligible for this award.Visit the link here for eligibility.

FY25 Inventory Verification

Deadline: Sunday, June 15, 5 p.m.

It is time once again for the Yearly Mandatory Inventory Verification. Each department is responsible for locating all assets assigned to it. The list of assets to be verified will be sent to the Head of each department on May 1 and is due before June 15. Find more information here.

Adobe Connect: End of Support

Deadline: July 1, 2025

Reminder: LU will end support for Adobe Connect on July 1, 2025. Before July 1, download any Adobe Connect materials you've archived in that platform and would like to keep. For detailed instructions, refer to our most recent CITL Blog post linked here. Contact citl@lamar.edu with questions.
